Stoking the Coals
In this time frontline health workers are doing what the rest of us cannot and every ounce of gratitude we as a human collective have should be directed toward them; they are our heroes, our calvary, our champions. Yet, what can we do?
As a creator during this time of life I can’t help but think of the words of Mr. Keating in “Dead Poets Society”, “We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”
I have deemed my sole pursuit during this moment, this time, this unknown, to provide anyone and everyone with a positive place to think and exist. I do not possess the hubris to think I can create what we stay alive for but I am hoping to keep the fire of my soul, and hopefully yours, alive by posting what can keep the coals stoked.
